What Is Interstate Electric Co.?

IEC, originally known as Interstate Electric Co., was founded in 1946 by Frank Urlik, rebuilding neon sign transformers. Since copper and other metals were hard to come by due to the war, rebuilt transformers were acceptable in the industry at that time. Frank focused on several important principles when he started the company. Customer service was among the most important. The importance of producing products on-time and keeping commitments to our customers was put into place. By doing this Frank built up a large base of customers. Around 1948 our customers asked if Interstate Electric would make other sign related products available to them. Frank began adding product lines for Interstate Electric. Customers were then able to purchase sign materials along with transformers, with one phone call. Thus, our company became a full line distributor of sign related products. Quality was of equal importance. It was critical to Frank that the transformers the company produced were reliable and built to last . This same vision of quality was carried on with the careful selection of products, brands and manufacturers. Today, IEC incorporates Frank's principles of Quality and Customer Service into every aspect of our business which are the fundamental building blocks for our company's culture. Our ongoing commitment to provide unmatched Customer Service with cutting edge Technology, Quality Products, Technical Knowledge and Support as well as in the importance of Accuracy in deliveries and billing is continued and improved on daily. Our group, a family of skilled employees, is the best and most knowledgeable group our industry has to offer. IEC has been offering far more products and services than a typical Sign Supply Distributor would, for decades. Our well rounded supply of Sign Products is complimented by our ever growing offering of Graphics Materials and Equipment. Our Graphic products consist of the best brand names and most innovative materials and equipment available. In addition, our large line of Display and Board Products involves IEC with framers, display houses and interior production studios. Our ability to cut-to-size display boards on a daily basis with precise, clean results has made IEC one of the premier distributors for all board products. A long history dealing with the Lighting Maintenance and Electrical industries provides the opportunity to include many Lighting and Electrical Products as well. Vast amounts of Sign, Lighting, Graphics & Display products are available and in stock at each location, ready to deliver, This makes IEC the most diverse distributor within our industries. IEC, originally referred to as Interstate Electric Co., affords the opportunity to obtain virtually all items necessary for any kind of sign, display, lighting or advertising application.
