What Is Interim HealthCare?

At Interim HealthCare we provide supportive services to the frail, elderly, as well as disabled individuals allowing them to remain safe and independent in the comfort of their own home. We understand it can be overwhelming when adults or children require special care due to an illness or injury and we offer full time or respite care to help families with these unique medical needs. As more than just the typical “sitter service,” we take a unique approach to in-home care – one that focuses on the different dimensions of an enriched life. In addition to traditional services such as companionship, homemaking and transportation we also care for the mind, body, spirit, and family as part of our unique HomeLife Enrichment® Program. Our HomeLife Enrichment program offers an experience that engages seniors and contributes to a lifestyle that is not only safe and independent, but one that is enriched with meaning and self-worth. By focusing on the qualities of an enriched life – the mind, body, spirit, and family – our services go well beyond traditional non-medical ―sitter services and address the broader issues our clients face as part of the aging process. Mind: The mind component focuses on identifying activities which are engaging, mind provoking and probably not activities a person does every day. We call these activities Brain Fitness & Fun. Whether it's simple math calculations to word scrambles, we offer clients the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities which help keep their minds alert, aging studies show, giving them a greater chance to remain independent longer. Body: The body component focuses on several aspects. It includes a home safety evaluation to identify risks and make recommendations about how seniors can live safely in their home. It also includes encouraging healthy movement when appropriate. And, we offer a personal response system that can provide support when family members or our Care Professionals are not in the home. Spirit: The spirit component covers activities that lift the spirit and make seniors happy so they can get more enjoyment from their lives. It can include ―life reviews by going through old photos, scrapbooking, painting or getting a chance to laugh by watching a movie in our Laughing Library, comedians to joke books. Another special component is our Pals2Pets program. Many times seniors want to remain in their homes because they have a pet who provides much needed companionship. Our Pals2Pet Care Professionals have undergone specialized training courses developed through our partnership with the National Humane Society. Family: One of the most important aspects in caring for seniors is the involvement of family caregivers, which is why we developed a program that provides tremendous emotional support for family members. Our Caregiver's Coaching program was developed by a leading Gerontologist social worker, Dr. Amy D'Aprix. Our services are customized to meet the individual's needs. So whether someone is recovering from an illness or injury, returning home after a stay in the hospital or rehab facility, learning to manage life with a chronic condition or simply needs assistance with activities of daily living we work with the patient, their physicians and families to provide the care they need so they can maintain their independence and stay in the comfort of their home. All of our care professionals are background & drug screened, trained & supervised, bonded and insured and they love to help people.
