Ibeo Automotive Systems GmbH is the German specialist for automotive LIDAR sensor technology located in Hamburg. In addition to the state of the art laser scanners, Ibeo develops software for environmental detection, referencing tools for Highly Automated Driving and Autonomous Driving (HADAD) systems as well as Highly Automated Driving and Mapping & Localization applications. Since the company's founding in 2009, the engineers and software developers at Ibeo have been promoting LIDAR technology and developing new software applications for automated and autonomous driving to make driving a more relaxed activity and to increase road safety for all traffic participants. In August 2016, the German automotive supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG acquired a 40 % stake in Ibeo. This stake was then incorporated in Zukunft Ventures GmbH, a subsidiary of ZF, to pave the way for the serial production of a new generation of 4D solid state LIDAR sensors without a rotating mirror.A second project is the fusion of various sensor technologies for even more sophisticated environmental perception to establish a basis for Autonomous Driving.
