In 1956, GEC opened its operation at Regents Park in Sydney, and has provided employment and training to thousands of people in the Australian electrical industry. In 2014 IPD acquired the Tasmanian based rail and utility test maintenance company Hivotech which enables expanded reach into the test, measurement and certification markets for dc and medium & high voltage AC clients. IPD designs and manufactures a large range of products specifically suited to the local environment, ensuring conformity to Australian Standards, incorporating strict compliance to ISO 9001:2008 We are members of industry groups AIG, NESMA, The Lighting Council, Clean Energy Council and Standards Australia where we endeavour to ensure the quality and integrity of equipment available to the Australian consumer is compliance tested and certified.
