From the beginning, Indak has been a design-driven company. While we do some contract assembly of mechanical and electronic products, the majority of our production is designed for specific applications in conjunction with our customers. Whether developing a custom plastic module or switch design, reducing steps and cost in a manufacturing process, or designing a complex multi-functional mechatronic assembly, INDAK's Engineering Team commands the resources, talent and experience to make your product requirement a reality. Our Engineering involvement often begins with our Sales Engineers, based in Farmington Hills (Detroit), Michigan, Hamburg, Germany, and our home offices in Northbrook, Illinois and Delavan, Wisconsin. We also have several Sales Engineering affiliates based in Mukwonago, Wisconsin; Cincinnati, Ohio and Muenster, Texas. Our philosophy is to work "Designer to Designer" directly with our customers' Design Engineers to reduce development time and to produce the best possible product. A combination electronic and electro-mechanical control for a HVAC system was designed providing two level lighting as well as elimination of a microprocessor based control. This resulted in a $5.00 cost savings per vehicle. Electronic Product Design is primarily done in Delavan, Wisconsin, also where most of our electronic assembly is done. Mechanical Product Design is mostly done in Northbrook, Illinois; also the site for much of our Manufacturing Engineering assembly tooling design. Our philosophy is to work "Designer to Designer" directly with our customers' Design Engineers to reduce development time and to produce the best possible product. Our Engineering Graphics program of choice is Unigraphics NX. We are familiar with and often translate drawing files into our customers' native language. Our Engineering Model Shops in Wisconsin and Illinois both use CAD data input to directly control tool paths of CNC machine tools for quick, error-free prototyping. Our affiliate Techny Plastics uses CAD data for prototype and production mold making.
