IMF Bentham Limited's principal activities are the investigation, management and funding of litigation and arbitration claims around the world. IMF Bentham funds large complex litigation, particularly commercial and patent disputes, insolvency claims, subrogated claims, as well as anti-trust and qui tam cases. The name "Bentham" recognises the memory of Jeremy Bentham, the nineteenth century jurist and social reformer who was among the first to support the utility of litigation funding. IMF Bentham is the largest litigation funder in Australia and the first to be listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:IMF) in 2001. It has funded some of Australia's largest and most high profile commercial legal cases including the Bank Fees, AWB, Centro, Pan Pharmaceuticals and Wivenhoe Dam actions. IMF Bentham has recovered over $1Billion in damages for clients and continues to produce good returns to investors. IMF Bentham provides: funding for litigation and investigations preliminary to litigation payment of adverse costs orders strategic planning, monitoring and managing of litigation factual investigation including asset tracing assistance in facilitating settlements and maximizing the value of each claim IMF Bentham does not provide legal advice of any sort.
