Horizons National Revenue and Competitors

Horizons National is a network of 65 transformational, community-centered programs proven to close the opportunity and achievement gaps for children in under-resourced communities. Horizons offers a high-quality learning experience outside of the traditional school year that supports academic achievement and healthy youth development. Our programs are hosted on the resource-rich campuses of independent schools, colleges, and universities across the country, serving almost 6,000 public and public charter school students in 19 states. Students begin their Horizons journey as early as pre-Kindergarten and return year after year through high school. This long-term, deep engagement in a hands-on approach is designed to fuel a life-long passion for learning. Our focus on literacy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programming inspires students to learn, achieve, and experience greater academic success. Our program also includes swimming instruction, breakfast and lunch, field trips, recreation, arts, and an overall emphasis on family involvement. Over Horizons' hallmark 6-week summer session, students show consistent 8-12 week gains in reading and math. They exhibit greater confidence and social-emotional skills, increased rates of school attendance, and improved self-esteem. As a network, Horizons programs retain 84% of students and families from year to year, Horizons high schoolers boast a high school graduation rate of 97%, and a remarkable 91% of Horizons graduates attend college or other post-secondary training. With the tools to navigate their world, Horizons students embrace a more expansive view of what’s possible, and find a path of success. Once a student is enrolled in Horizons, anything seems possible.
