What Is HighWire?
Founded by Stanford University Libraries in 1995, HighWire Press was formed to help academic publishers to host peer-reviewed content online. The Journal of Biological Chemistry published by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, was the first to launch on the HighWire platform. In 2014, Highwire Press enjoyed a significant equity investment from the technology fund, Accel-KKR. This has enabled us to invest in the technology that keeps our customers at the forefront of digital innovation, while retaining our academic integrity.
