Haystack is building a search engine for the inventory of local retailers, allowing you to search for a product and see the closest stores carrying it. Haystack solves the problem of store inclusion and the offline nature of most store inventory through an approach combining real-time data with predictive analytics, allowing users to search any product and never miss the closest local stores. Haystack's online local inventory data can ultimately power a decentralized network of stores that can deliver nearly anything quicker, cheaper and more economically than any current on-demand / last mile delivery alternative. Haystack is led by Benjamin Dean (Pomona College BA, Wharton MBA), the founding Chief Analyst for NYC's award winning Mayor's Office of Data Analytics under Mayor Bloomberg, where he led efforts to predict catastrophic outcomes and allocate agencies' limited inspection resources.
