What Is Harrison Truck Centers?
The Harrison family has been in the truck sales and service business since the late 60s when Stan Harrison operated Trans-Iowa Equipment, Inc., a truck equipment body builder and Oshkosh Truck dealership. Sons Brian and Chad first worked for their father's business shortly after graduating from high school, then later gained valuable experience with careers elsewhere in the automotive field. In 1997, the Harrison family acquired Cedar Valley Freightliner of Waterloo, Iowa. Brian was named president and CEO and Chad became vice president, positions the two brothers still hold today. In 2006, the Harrisons sold Trans-Iowa Equipment and dedicated their energies to growing their Freightliner business. The company quickly expanded, adding a Clear Lake, Iowa, location in 2000 and changing its name to Harrison Truck Centers in 2004. A Des Moines location was added in 2014, and longtime family friend Dustin Petersen joined HTC as Chief Financial Officer. From 1997 to 2015 Harrison Truck Centers grew from 40 employees to 200. With the acquisition of four Westman Freightliner dealerships in southern Minnesota, the company now totals nearly 400 associates and is poised to serve the truck needs of the upper Midwest like never before.
