What Is Harbor Hospice?

Harbor Hospice provides comprehensive care for terminally ill patients and resources for their families that allow them to enjoy their last days, weeks, or months of their lives together. We are uniquely qualified focusing on pain control and symptom management for terminally ill people at home or in a home-like setting. Harbor Hospice makes a dying patient's last days better by offering dignifying care for dying and hope for living. Harbor Hospice makes it possible for a family and their dying loved one to share their final time together. Harbor Hospice care offers specialized health care with expertise in pain and symptom management, emotional support and spiritual care, as well as bereavement counseling for family members anticipating or following the death of their loved one. Harbor Hospice was the first in the region to offer professional hospice care and today remains the most trusted, most utilized hospice care provider. Harbor Hospice is the only regional hospice recognized by the United Way. Harbor Hospice is distinguished by superior, medically-based care-giving and trained, empathetic staff. At Harbor Hospice, hospice care is a specialty, not a service line. Harbor Hospice has served the lakeshore community longer than any other hospice provider in the region. In 2006, we changed our name from Hospice of Muskegon-Oceana to better reflect what we have always been trusted for,we are a place of comfort and source of strength in a time of need. Changing our name to Harbor Hospice signals our growth and commitment to serve more patients and families, over a broader geography, and to serve them earlier to assure more people's final days are enriched and whole.
