HSBC Life (UK) Ltd is a subsidiary of HSBC bank plc, one of the world's largest banking and financial service's organisations. As well as offering a wide range of protection solutions, HSBC Life has been at the forefront of the industry in the development of open architecture investment products offering flexible investing and investment choice, transparent charging structures and transparent taxation. The HSBC Onshore Investment Bond has an open architecture structure which allows an adviser to select from over 150 fund managers and 2700 funds to build their client portfolios. The fund range is growing weekly and includes Investment Trusts and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). The bond's open architecture provides great flexibility by enabling an adviser to change the underlying investment portfolio as the investment needs of the client changes. The adviser can adapt the portfolio and switch between the extensive choice of providers without generating a tax liability. Traditionally, onshore investment bonds only allow investment through the provider's own restricted range of funds and the typical bond structure does not allow movement between fund managers without first surrendering the bond. Furthermore, the HSBC Onshore Investment Bond's open architecture structure provides the ability to add fund managers to the underlying fund panel, allowing the financial adviser community to take advantage of the HSBC Investment Bond's flexibility to invest in their preferred in house managed solutions or to complement their own panel of fund managers and funds.
