What Is Gregory's?

A Dallas institution since 1989, Gregory’s is a family-owned, high-end shop with a cult following of fashion heavy hitters that range from Hollywood stylists and professional athletes to the who’s who of the music industry (think Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Steven Tyler and Rihanna). Opened as a shoe boutique by husband-and-wife duo Larry and Leslie Matney, Gregory’s didn’t take long to make its name, carrying the hottest looks from high-style pioneers before the rest of the country. After founding its reputation in footwear, the boutique expanded its fashion footprint with a well-edited selection for both men and women culled from across the globe. Those highly coveted, dramatic-shouldered Balmain jackets? Gregory’s sold them for years before they took the fashion world by storm. Now owned by the Matneys’ son, Jon Harris, the boutique still benefits from its two original buyers. “After college, I purchased the company from my parents so they could focus their efforts on buying,” Harris says. “They are the reason we can source products that no one in the U.S. has seen before.”
