What Is Green Tree School and Services?

Founded in 1957, Green Tree School & Services (GTSS) provides education and therapeutic services for children with learning, developmental, behavioral and emotional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, a Serious Emotional Disturbance or Neurological Impairment. Services are offered through the following programs: GTSS On-Site Programs • The Approved Private School (APS) educates students who have difficulty learning in a traditional classroom. Small class sizes, specialized facilities, and experienced staff combine to help students meet their individual goals. • The Outpatient Clinic provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management services. Clinicians learn why behaviors occur, build coping skills, and create positive change. Therapists also provide case management for services that students need outside of school. • The Diagnostic Clinic assesses the emotional, social and behavioral functioning of special needs students to determine an appropriate long-term educational placement and offers recommendations for appropirate Academic Placement or Behavioral Health services. GTSS Off-Site Programs • The Behavioral Health Services stabilize and empower children with severe emotional and behavioral learning needs in their school district or home setting. • Green Tree Partnerships works with children with emotional and behavioral disorders in school districts that do not have the experience with such a population. It helps ensure children remain in their home school as they improve social and emotional skills necessary to be an active member of their school community. Located in historic West Oak Lane, GTSS serves over 350 children each year, ages 3 to 21, in a variety of schools and districts around the Greater Philadelphia area. Green Tree School & Services is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization which is funded through a variety of sources, and there is no cost to parents or guardians of its students.
