40,000 volunteers . 450,000 trees, grasses & flowers planted . 19,500 acres Great River Greening inspires and leads local communities throughout Minnesota in restoring the land and water that enrich our lives. As Minnesota’s leader in community-based restoration, devoted solely to stewardship, we engage volunteers on a scale no other environmental organization can match. We work alongside nearly 40,000 volunteers removing invasive species and planting native trees, flowers, and grasses, at more than 350 sites, at least half in the Twin Cities area. Our experienced ecologists apply state-of-the-art practices to these restoration projects - among them, animal grazing and enhancing pollinator habitat.
