Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. began operations here in Salina on April 1, 1976. During the last 25 years, the company has seen steady growth with new product lines, better facilities and growing employment. These accomplishments have happened because of the hard work, ingenuity and commitment of our employees, sales staff and hundreds of committed dealers across the country. What started as a small start up business in 1976 is now a solid, growth oriented company with approximately 650 employees. The original product line from the 1970s has been growing to include a broad range of agriculture products that include planting, seeding, spraying and tilling equipment plus a full line of landscape equipment including tillers, mowers, cutters, overseeders, rear blades, etc. These products are now marketed throughout North America and overseas. With our products distributed through over 1,000 Great Plains dealers and approximately 1,400 Land Pride dealers, we now hold significant market positions in both our agricultural implements and landscaping equipment. Great Plains Mfg., Inc. operates six locations in Central Kansas with a total of over 650,000 sq. ft. At Great Plains, our employees are our most important asset. It is our philosophy to keep our production facilities in Central Kansas and our company encourages and supports a strong, family-oriented work environment; where the production of high quality products is a direct result of the personal pride our employees take in doing a job right.
