What Is Golden Charter?

Golden Charter is one of the UK’s market leading pre-paid funeral plan providers, with a network of around 3,000 independent funeral directors throughout the UK.\n\nThe company is owned by an association of independent funeral directors, and was founded with the aim of safeguarding the future of local, often family-run businesses.\n\nWith over 26 years’ experience, more than 700,000 people have trusted us to take care of their funeral arrangements to date and we are able to offer plan holders the unrivalled opportunity to choose which funeral director will attend to their wishes. \n\nIn September 2016, we joined forces with The Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland to raise funds for the Armed Forces community. For every funeral plan sold through our website and by participating funeral directors, £25 is donated to the charities. In one year alone, we raised over £139,000 for the charities and we aim to build on this total during the second year of partnership.\n\nGolden Charter is also the longest standing corporate partner of the Woodland Trust, raising more than £1m for the woodland conservation charity over the duration of our partnership.\n\nAwards success\n• Glasgow Business Awards 2016, Excellence in Communications\n• s1 Recruitment Awards 2016, Best In-House Recruitment Team \n• The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 League Table, 2014 and 2015\n• Institute of Directors Awards 2015, Bank of Scotland Non-Executive Director of the Year Award, Magnus \n Swanson, Chairman of Golden Charter\n• Glasgow Business Awards 2014, Best Performing Business and Most Outstanding Business
