The parlors offer a variety of pizzas and topping choices, along with appetizers, salads, and sandwiches, and it typically offer dine-in, delivery, and carry-out service. More than 80% of Godfather's locations are operated by franchisees. Nebraska native Willy Theisen opened the first Godfather's in 1973. After going public in 1982, the company was acquired by Pillsbury (now part of General Mills) in 1982. Chairman Herman Cain bought the company in 1988.
