Fulenwider Enterprises, Inc. is a third generation family owned and operated restaurant company based in Morganton, North Carolina. J.V. and Helen Fulenwider became involved with Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1965 when they opened the first Fulenwider Enterprises KFC in Morganton, NC. With the aid of their two sons, Mike and Rusty, the business grew rapidly. Today, with Mike Fulenwider serving at the helm, the company continues to thrive, primarily serving western North Carolina and northern Georgia. Fulenwider Enterprises became a Taco Bell franchisee in 1997 and today operates 10 Taco Bells. In 2006, the company opened its first Taco Bell/Long John Silvers. In addition to KFC, Taco Bell, and Long John Silver's, the company operates other restaurants in North Carolina including Judge's Barbeque, Butch's Barbeque (3 locations), and Countryside Barbeque. As YUM's brands are some of the strongest in the business, Fulenwider Enterprises continues to focus on additional expansion. Explosive growth in the northern Georgia and greater Charlotte markets provide many long term new growth opportunities for the company. New stores will be opening shortly in Icard, NC and Adairsville, GA. Their deep roots in western North Carolina and long operating history have shaped the company into a strong and stable organization employing over 1200 people.
