First NBC Bank Revenue and Competitors

From its inception only six years ago, First NBC Bank has become one of the areas primary lending institutions with assets of $2.3 billion. Its portfolio has changed vastly since it began operation in May 2006—a time when the city of New Orleans was still reeling from the largest natural disaster in the history of the United States. Less than a year after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita ravaged the Gulf Coast, First NBC Bank received its charter to begin operation from the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions. Through overwhelming support from the local community, the Bank’s initial capital footings exceeded $60 million, which set a record for the largest initial capital raised by a Louisiana chartered institution.
