The company began in 1933 when E.E. Richter and his son, Bud, started a business specializing in industrial engines. They built their business in the San Francisco Bay Area and soon began selling to other parts of the state. The business continued to grow as the second generation of the Richter family took over the reins and found more opportunities to help companies with their power equipment needs. In the early 70’s, the third generation of Richters researched how they could best serve the fast growing industrial business segment.
