Elk River -Jelco designs, manufactures and distributes personal fall protection products. Elk River, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Terry and Philip Clemmons. Our corporate headquarters is located in Cullman, Alabama with manufacturing facilities in Cullman and Athens, Alabama and Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Elk River started operation with twelve products, two sewing machines, one grommet machine, and the American Dream. Today, there are over one hundred Elk River people, manufacturing over two thousand line items in three plants in two countries. Elk River currently has three operations in Alabama - one in Athens, and two in Cullman. We have sales throughout the United States, Central America and most of the Pacific Rim and over 3,000 distributors in countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Israel. On August 1, 1998, Elk River acquired J.E. Lortie Co. LTD (Jelco) and Alubox. J.E. Lortie is a Canadian based corporation located in Montreal, Quebec. They manufacture a broad line of fall protection products, directed toward the utility markets, sold throughout Canada. Alubox manufactures Vulcanized fiber cases, welded aluminum cases, and ATA cases, sold primarily in Quebec.
