What Is East Central Florida Regional Planning Council?

The East Central Florida Regional Planning Council (ECFRPC Region 6) was established in 1962 and is one of 11 regional planning councils mandated by the Florida Legislature under the authority of Chapter 186, Florida statutes. The ECFRPC is a public agency that assists the public, private, and institutional sectors in a 6-county area to address regional scale issues. The ECFRPC offers services to the six counties of Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia. This planning area includes 3 major metropolitan areas, 68 cities, 6,500 square miles and nearly 3 million people.
