Earth Fare Revenue and Competitors

Earth Fare’s roots go back to 1975 when Roger Derrough founded Dinner for the Earth, the first natural food store in Asheville, North Carolina. For 5 years the store operated out of the original tiny store front before relocating to a much larger and centrally located location where the store grew and thrived for an additional 14 years. In October of 1993, the store changed its name to Earth Fare to reflect the significant transition the company was experiencing. In June of 1994 Earth Fare again relocated this time to an established Asheville shopping center and the first version of the present day Earth Fare stores. A year later, Earth Fare won the Best New Store of the Year award from Health Foods Business Magazine and was featured on the front cover of the magazine’s July issue.
