What Is Douglas Macmillan Hospice?

The Douglas Macmillan Hospice, better known as Dougie Mac, is the only adult hospice in North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Each year, we provide all hospice services free of charge to over 3,500 local people who are facing life-limiting illnesses.\n\nOur mission statement is simple… to deliver excellent care to people approaching end of life. We help people living with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses including advanced heart failure, dementia, motor neurone disease and incurable lung diseases as well as giving supportive care to their families and carers.\n\nWe would not be able to provide this vital care and support without the commitment of a multi-disciplinary team of staff and volunteers as well as our dedicated local supporters. To allow the hospice to continue providing priceless care, free of charge the hospice needs to raise in excess of £12million this year, with 80% of the money raised coming from voluntary donations.\n\nTo find out more about the hospice and our services you can visit our website: www.dmhospice.org.uk
