Dinwiddie County Public Schools is a dynamic, success driven school division located within a community offering a great quality of life. Our motto “Deep Roots, Great Heights” symbolizes our current growth, achievements and future aspirations. We strive to maintain a culture of Integrity, Excellence and Equity in providing the best environment for students to learn and grow. With 5 elementary schools and 2 secondary schools we educate 4,300+ students and average 21 students per class. We offer a rigorous curriculum with a plethora enrichment activities based on the Virginia Standards of Learning. The division also is a partner of Rowanty Technical Center, offering high school students the ability to pursue vocational skills-based careers. Conveniently located 35 minutes from Virginia’s capital in Richmond, the county offers easy access to all of the cultural and educational amenities of central Virginia. Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads, as well as the Blue Ridge Mountains are 90 minutes from the county and are easy day trips. The school division continues to maintain full accreditation and was recently named Non-Profit of the Year and Business of the Year by the Dinwiddie Chamber of Commerce (2019).
