Denier is a family-owned business with a rich history that goes back nearly 7 decades. The business started as a small electrical contractor business but has grown into a multi-division business capable of meeting the needs of just about any construction project. In 1942, Denier Electric is founded in Cincinnati by Howard Denier with just one employee. In 1969, Denier invents the hydraulic scissors lift – proudly proclaiming it was “built by electricians”– and introduces it to the construction industry in 1970. In 1974, Denier becomes a 2nd generation business when Dennis Denier, who started as an electrician helper in 1963, assumes the role of President. The company steadily grows to 250 employees under his leadership. In 1980, in anticipation of the industry moving away from traditional spec-bid construction to fast-track, design/build projects, Denier starts its own in-house engineering firm, which propels it to the forefront of design-build electrical contracting.
