What Is Custom?
Custom is a no-holds-barred custom jewelry shop located in the NoDA Arts District of Charlotte, NC. Started as the anti-jewelry store, shop owners Katie and Lee wanted to create a space where anyone could purchase fine jewelry, without the pomp and trappings of conventional fine jewelers. The result is Custom -- a light-filled industrial space with concrete floors, avant garde art on the walls, and a bike repair shop in the back. At Custom most days, you'll find our tattooed Jewel-master, Lee, casting, carving, setting, and generally being a jewelry workhorse. You'll find his counter-part, Katie, working her behind-the-scenes design magic. You'll find me, Lindsay, chatting with customers and bloggin' in style. And you'll find our shop dog, Bruce, running around looking for his ball.
