What Is Crop Soil and Environmental Sciences Department at the University of Arkansas?

The Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences is one of nine academic departments in DBCAFLS, along with the School of Human Environmental Sciences. Resident Instruction is provided by 15 faculty members at the Fayetteville campus with approximately 140 undergraduate majors and 60 graduate students. An additional 16 research and Extension faculty serve clientele at various Research and Extension Centers strategically located around the state. The Department offers Bachelor’s degrees in Crop Science and Environmental, Soil, and Water Sciences along with Master’s and Doctoral degrees. For over 100 years the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences has been at the forefront of academic excellence and scientific advancement at the University of Arkansas. Our Department offers nationally competitive undergraduate and graduate degree programs that aim to utilize modern technology as we move towards a more sustainable future. The mission of the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences is to provide superior education programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conduct innovative research and extension programs in the crop, soil and environmental sciences, and provide superior service for citizens of Arkansas and the nation.
