Welcome to our website! The website has been designed to be user friendly so that you can easily access the information that you want. Staff has worked very hard to put together the information contained on the website. I am very proud of the men and women of the Marin County Sheriff's Office and believe that our Mission and Values reflect the citizens of Marin County. Now, let me tell you a little bit about us. With a staff of 202 sworn deputies and 115 law enforcement professionals, and with a budget of more than $33 million, coordination of services is essential. The services that we provide and how we provide them is critical to the success of our mission. It is important that we work closely with the community and other service organizations in identifying and solving the problems facing us. We can say confidently that the Marin County Sheriff's Office is committed to quality service through our Community Policing Programs. It is important, as we charge into the twenty-first century, that we are careful to measure community needs and help create and support successful solutions with the smallest degree of intrusiveness necessary. It is, however, our belief that we can work together in order to deter crimes in our community, especially the troublesome ones, such as domestic violence and hate crimes. It is through the consistent practice of honest communication and interaction with the community that our partnership will be effective. Marin County is located immediately North of the Golden Gate bridge in the North Bay. Much of Marin's 521 square miles is unincorporated and therefore the crime prevention and law enforcement responsibility of the Marin County Sheriff's Office. Responsibilities of the Sheriff's Office also include maintaining the county jail, operating a countywide communications division, operating a documentary services division consisting of records, warrants, and civil units, and much more. The Sheriff's Office is divided into three major bureaus which govern the individual divisions and units. Use the links below to browse the bureaus and their divisions or jump directly to the division or unit you're interested in. Take note of the "miscellaneous" section which also has helpful information. The "Site Map" link at the top of each page will always return you to the site map where you can jump to any other place in our site.
