What Is Copperfields Books?
From author events, book clubs to book fairs, Copperfield’s has been committed to literature, education, and community. Copperfield’s has a reputation throughout Northern California for creating vibrant gathering places which offer cozy surroundings for booklovers. It began as a vision for a truly full-service community-based bookstore by owners Paul Jaffe and Barney Brown, who purchased Sebastopol’s Myst Bookstore in June of 1981 and changed the name to Copperfield’s Books. From that 725 square foot storefront, Copperfield’s began to attract booklovers from all over Sonoma County. By 1983, the Sebastopol store had moved to its present location in the old Analy Five & Dime building and also opened a second store in Montgomery Village, Santa Rosa. Along with the stores in Sebastopol and Santa Rosa, Copperfield’s has locations in Petaluma, Napa, Calistoga, and Healdsburg. In 2013, Copperfield's expanded into Marin County with the opening of our San Rafael store, followed by our Novato store in the spring of 2016. Our fine staff of booksellers are ready to go the extra mile to help customers find just what they’re looking for. Whatever your interests, Copperfield’s has always taken pride in having a unique mix of inventory that provides customers with a fun shopping experience. Each store is stocked with a broad selection of books, magazines, greeting cards, and unique gifts. Our store in Santa Rosa also has a café. We have a used bookstore in Petaluma that provides access to thousands of antiquarian and out-of-print books. We also buy used books from our customers. For over 35 years, Copperfield’s has been committed to our “bricks and mortar†roots and will always welcome you into our stores. We also invite you to our online store that offers even more access to the world of books with your choice of reading formats, including audio.
