Our History The Consolidated Label story began over 25 years ago when Joel Carmany, the company President, purchased a fledgling label manufacturing business with just 6 employees. Joel didn't know a thing about the label industry, but he had a passion for business and saw potential in the small label manufacturing company - even though it only had the most basic label printing equipment. Joel started by taking some of the skills he had learned in his prior career as a sales manager for General Electric and hired a small direct sales force. Armed with an enthusiasm for making customers happy, Joel and his new sales team hit the streets looking for opportunities. They met with business owners and purchasing agents day after day for weeks. From these meetings, Joel quickly realized that these buyers desperately needed a label company that would: Have the expertise to recommend the right label products. Deliver on their schedule not the label company's schedule. Listen and truly understand their business' needs. Joel took these important lessons he learned and went to work creating a company mission. This mission would become the guiding set of principles he believed could deliver on these customers' desires. Once the mission and principles were in place, Joel went to work hiring more people who shared his mindset and could help him execute the Company's goals. Slow sales during the day led to many sleepless nights for Joel, but it would not last long. Within 18 short months, the Company's message started to resonate with prospects, and the team was making enough sales to justify purchasing its first high-end flexographic label press. Little did they know, the press would soon open the door to more opportunities then they could have ever imagined. It wouldn't be long before the Company would outgrow its facility and would be forced to find a bigger building. As the sales continued to increase, Joel continued to invest in his team, equipment, and technology. Building a Legacy Several moves and expansions later, Consolidated Label now operates out of an 83,000 square foot manufacturing facility and has grown into one of the largest pressure sensitive label manufacturers in the country. The mission and principles that Joel instilled in each of us over 25 years ago are as important today as they were back when he started. Those principles have kept customers coming back and allowed us to consistently grow our business, exceeding the expectations of our customers along the way. Those customers have played a big part in us winning many industry awards including the coveted Tag and Label Manufacturers' Institute award for "Best Managed Company nine years in a row. Today, you will find both digital printing presses and high-speed flexographic presses in our plant. You will also find our manufacturing facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in an effort to meet customer demands and keep lead times as short as possible. We are focused constantly expanding our equipment and expertise to meet the changing needs of our customers.
