Connect Transit Revenue and Competitors

Welcome from Connect Transit! The citizens of Bloomington-Normal chose to ride Connect Transit over two million times last year! Connect Transit's dedicated employees are proud to provide the safe, efficient and reliable transportation that the community has come to depend upon in record numbers. It is certainly not the same old transit system. A new name, new buses, new technology and effective route improvements are some of the changes that have been made at Connect Transit over the last three years. And the best is yet to come! Connect Transit's infrastructure will be improving. Some additional changes to come include: the purchase of more buses, plans for facility improvements at transfer points, implementation of a bus stop shelter plan and a new fare collection system that provides more convenient ticket and payment options. Connect Transit is always striving to increase service level. Among the options being pursued are increased frequency of buses, expanded service hours and service on Sundays. This is an ambitious plan and it will not all happen overnight. A number of these important goals are already budgeted, but some will require additional funding which will likely have to come from local sources. Connect Transit is committed to utilizing an inclusive planning process that encourages input from the community. Connect Transit will continue to be the most effective stewards of public funds while being responsive to the needs of the customers and community.
