What Is Comp Sci High?
Comp Sci High is a new computer science high school opening in the Bronx in 2018. Our mission is to ensure every student graduates with a college acceptance letter, high tech skills, real work experience, and a plan to turn those opportunities into a successful career. Our vision is to develop a new high school model that uses the power of education, technology, and community to become an engine of opportunity and a force for economic freedom in the South Bronx. Our model was developed to answer a single question: what will our students need to succeed in a high-tech career? Our answer includes five key ingredients (1) a strong background in Computer Science, (2) a demanding academic model, (3) personalized support, (4) work-based learning, and (5) a focus on community, student voice, and independence.
