What Is City of Greensboro?

The Greensboro Fire Department offers numerous forms of public life and fire safety education. From brochures and videos, to live presentations, we can deliver information to your home or business organization. Whether it's a puppet show for a group of kindergarteners, a fire extinguisher instruction class for your administrative staff, or planning a fire escape program for your extended care organization, Greensboro Fire Department is here to meet your needs. The department accomplishes its mission of service and dedication through the services of almost 400 employees. There are 18 Engine companies, 7 Quint companies, and 2 Rescue Vehicles operating out of 18 strategically placed fire stations. Several specialty units provide various services for hazardous materials responses, confined space rescue, structural collapse rescue, high rise rescue, swift water rescue, basic life support, recruitment, plans review and other areas of special need. The following is a brief overview of programs currently being offered. More detailed information on programs can be obtained by contacting us. A 7-10 day planning period is required when requesting programs.
