What Is Charter Oak Communities?

Charter Oak Communities (COC) is building modern, attractive communities that are welcome additions to their neighborhoods and to Stamford, Connecticut. Our ongoing evolution has changed the manner in which the diverse populations we serve- and the general public- view public-assisted housing. And, the transformation continues, as does the need for continued growth, public and private investment, collaboration and more comprehensive human-focused services. COC provides appealing, affordable homes for thousands of low- and moderate-income Stamford families and market-rate residents. We achieve our mission through innovative financing personalized human services and comprehensive partnerships with government, other mission-driven organizations and the private sector. Our mixed-income communities provide a better quality of life for residents, fit comfortably in Stamford's existing infrastructure, and complement development and the architecture of surrounding neighborhoods.
