Our lecturers and tutors are leading experts in their field. The facilities at the Centre for Alternative Technology allows students to combine both the theory and the practice into their learning. \n\nWe offer unique, flexible post graduate courses on sustainability, renewable energy, archtiecture and the built environment. We also run accredited courses for trade professionals and educators, in areas such as solar water heating and electricity, heat pumps, wood fuels and water management.\n \nBased in the Wales Institute for Sustainable Education (WISE), a state of the art eco-educational facility offering a beautiful combination of environmentally conscious design and cutting-edge sustainable building techniques. the GSE offers unparalleled teaching and accommodation facilities, including a 180-seat cylindrical rammed earth lecture theatre, unique seminar rooms and workshops, common rooms and reception areas, 24 en-suite study bedrooms and a restaurant and bar. The supply of on-site renewable energy sources, including biomass and solar power, means that WISE is a truly sustainable place to study. WISE is also a 2011 RIBA Award winning Building and has won Building of the year 2010 in the Daily Telegraph.
