What Is Central Computers?
The Central Group was founded by Saul and Sherry Yeung. Saul Yeung was born in China and came to America for graduate studies in 1975. In the mid-1980s, he finished his PhD studies at UC Berkeley, and began to teach. Sherry Yeung was completing her MBA degree at UCLA, and took a management job position for IBM. During this period, the computer industry of Silicon Valley was booming. Saul and Sherry Yeung seized their opportunity and founded Central Computer Inc. in 1986. They began by importing computer hardware from Taiwan, then assembling the parts and distributing them across the United States. Later on they also distributed computer products made in the United States and Japan. Now, Central Computer is comprised of four retail stores in four cities.
