What Is Center for Genomic and Computational Biology (GCB) Duke University?

GCB is an interdisciplinary center where faculty from across Duke University’s campus collaborate to study complex problems in genomic and computational biology, train researchers, and develop genomic technologies. GCB's mission is to foster excellence in genomics and computational biology across Duke’s campus. GCB researchers do this through research collaborations, educational activities, and core facilities. GCB is passionate about interdisciplinary research that dissolves the distinction between the wet lab and quantitative analysis. GCB is also dedicated to training the current and next generation of researchers through educational programs that support undergraduates, graduate students, and senior researchers with a variety of classes, hands-on workshops, and research opportunities. In addition, GCB operates six core facilities that develop and disseminate next-generation technologies and best practices for research in genomic and computational biology.
