What Is Centaurus Metals?

Centaurus Metals (ASX: CTM) is an ASX-listed exploration company focused on the development of the advanced Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project, located in the world-class Carajás Mineral Province in Brazil. The Carajás Mineral Province is one of the world’s premier mining addresses, hosting one of the world’s largest concentrations of large-tonnage mineral deposits. Centaurus completed the acquisition of the Jaguar Project from global mining giant, Vale S.A. in April 2020, and in July 2020 delivered a maiden JORC 2012 Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 48 million tonnes grading 1.08% nickel for 517,500 tonnes of contained nickel – making Jaguar one of the largest near-surface undeveloped nickel sulphide projects in the world. The Jaguar Resource includes a high-grade core grading 1.56% nickel that contains more than 320,000 tonnes of nickel metal, providing an outstanding platform from which to commence scoping and development studies. Importantly, around 80% of the nickel tonnes are less than 200m from surface, with strong potential to further expand the high-grade Resource through systematic extensional and step-out drilling. In addition to Jaguar, Centaurus also holds the development-ready Jambreiro Iron Ore Project, where a July 2019 Pre-Feasibility Study confirmed low costs and strong economics for a 1Mtpa mining operation.
