What Is Cedar Hill Isd?
The first independent school board for Cedar Hill was founded in 1886, with the first official brick building dedicated in 1888. The Cedar Hill ISD was formally recognized in 1900. The district had four employees and six graduating seniors in the early 1900's.\n\nIn 2011, The Texas Education Agency rated the Cedar Hill Independent School District as a Recognized school district. The Texas State Comptrollers Office named Cedar Hill Independent School District as one of four percent of schools districts in the state with a 5 star rating in its Financial Allocation Study for Texas. The district has an AA- financial bond rating from Standard and Poor's.\n\nCedar Hill ISD is a 5A district with over 8,100 students and 13 schools:\n\n 1 High School with grades 10 - 12\n 1 Early College High School\n 1 Ninth Grade Center\n 2 Middle Schools (grades 7 - 8)\n 2 Intermediate Schools (grades 5 - 6)\n 6 Elementary Schools (grades K - 4)\n\nCHISD has a budget of approximately $70 million with a $1.44 Tax Rate for 2010-2011. The district is the 2nd largest employer in the city of Cedar Hill.
