What Is Carole Robertson Center for Learning?
The Carole Robertson Center for Learning is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to educating, enriching, and empowering children and families through comprehensive child and family development programs. The Center serves over 650 children and families every day out of three sites on the west side of Chicago. Programs serve children at every stage of development - from birth to age 12. Current programs include: centerbased and home-based child development programs for children aged 6 weeks to through age 5, school age programming for children through age 12, extensive family support and social services, and community training. All programs are bilingual in English and Spanish. Children with special needs are welcome in all programs. The Carole Robertson Center for Learning is named in memory of Carole Robertson, Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, and Denise McNair the four girls killed in the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement.
