What Is Cancer Patient Services of Hancock County?

Cancer Patient Services is a United Way Partner Agency that serves cancer patients who live or work in Hancock County. All of our services are provided free of charge to our clients. CPS receives its funding from donations, fundraisers, memorials or bequests, and grants from the United Way. Cancer Patient Services is a local agency that is not affiliated with or receives any funding from any national cancer organizations. Therefore, while we strive to meet the needs of our clients, we can only do so based on our funding levels. Eligibility Requirements for Services: • A cancer diagnosis from a licensed medical practitioner; and • You live or work in Hancock County at the time of your intake appointment. Summary of our Services: (See Forms for Specific details) Financial • Reimbursement for Cancer-related Prescription costs • Reimbursement for Chemotherapy costs • One time subsidy for Radiation costs • Mileage Reimbursement for trips related to Cancer Treatment • Assistance with cost of Prosthesis • Assistance with cost of wig Physical • Supplemental Food, ie. , Ensure, etc. • Wigs or hats are available • Ostomy and incontinence supplies • Other medical supplies, ie disposable gloves and washcloths • Ability to Lend Medical equipment, ie. Wheelchairs, electric beds, shower chairs, etc. Educational • Library of cancer related books • Magazines • Seminars and Health Fairs Emotional • Adult Support Group • Support Activities for Children • Supportive Staff and volunteers
