What Is Camp Summit?

Camp Summit is an overnight camp for children and adults with disabilities. We offer week long camp sessions during spring break, summer, and fall, as well as weekend sessions and respite days throughout the year. Campers are offered a wide variety of traditional camp activities in our barrier-free environment. The mission of Camp Summit is to provide barrier free outdoor experiences that promote personal growth and foster independence for children and adults with disabilities. Camp Summit is the premier camp for children and adults with disabilities. We change lives by expanding actual and perceived boundaries, and we teach others to value individuals regardless of their abilities. Values: - Believe all persons have value, rights and abilities and treat them with respect. - Advocate for the rights of the mentally and physically challenged at all times. - Encourage camper participation, independence and creativity in all activities at an appropriate but challenging level. - Provide a barrier free, safe environment for outdoor experiences. - Support families by offering respite opportunities. - Accept all ages, disabilities and income levels.
