What Is Cafe Campesino?

Cafe Campesino is a Georgia-based coffee company that sources exclusively fair trade, organic coffees from small-scale farmers around the world. Founded nearly 20 years ago, Cafe Campesino started as a coffee importer, but today it operates as a coffee roaster, supplying freshly roasted fair trade, organic coffees to wholesale customers such as coffee shops, natural foods stores, offices, hospitals, universities, and others. Retail customers purchase pounds of Cafe Campesino coffee online or at the company's flagship coffee shop in Americus, Georgia, which also features made-from-scratch lunches prepared by a New England Culinary School graduate. In addition to coffee, Cafe Campesino also supplies a host of allied products such as World Centric compostable to-go ware, syrups from Monin and Jim's Organic Syrups, teas from Rishi and Choice Organic Teas and organic smoothie puree bases from Dr. Smoothie. The company offers specialty coffee training, employing an Authorized Specialty Coffee Trainer on-staff. Founded in 1998, Cafe Campesino purchases all of its coffees directly from farmer-owned cooperatives in countries such as: Bolivia, Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, and Indonesia. It is able to source coffees directly from farmers by way of its ownership in a unique green coffee importing group of roasters known as Cooperative Coffees. Cooperative Coffees also helps Cafe Campesino maintain business transparency by making its coffee contracts, certifications and bills of lading accessible via the website: OurCoffeePath.com. Cafe Campesino became a B Corp in 2017. Its leadership regularly travels to coffee origin, traveling internationally 2-3 times per year. Learn more about Cafe Campesino at www.cafecampesino.com
