CMX Cinemas opened its doors in April 2017 at Brickell City Centre, Miami, FL, offering new features to give guests an innovative and VIP movie-going experience. Complete with cutting edge audiovisual technology, the CMX luxury concept offers moviegoers the ultimate upscale and relaxing experience with its high end décor, oversized reclining seats, in-seat as well as grab & go gourmet dining options and an exceptional assortment of wines and handcrafted cocktails made to order by top mixologists in a well-appointed and exclusive sports- lounge and bar area, featuring the largest indoor LED screen in Florida. CMX brings the cinematic experience to any portable device through its extensive easy to use geo-targeted application, allowing customers to pre-purchase tickets and order food . Since the successful launch of its first movie theatre , CMX has become a recognized one-stop-shop for entertainment. Last August, CMX announced the acquisition of additional locations in Florida and the Midwest through the acquisition of four Paragon Theatres. And more recently, CMX announced a purchase agreement pursuant to which CMX will acquire all of Cobb Theatres' 25 existing locations as well as two theatres under development in Florida and Georgia. The purchase represents the on-going strategy of CMX Cinemas to establish a major footprint within the motion picture exhibition industry in the United States. The acquisition will position CMX as the eighth largest movie theatre chain in the United States with 30 currently operating sites and 342 screens. CMX will continue to grow organically and through acquisitions in the United States by developing and opening new theatres. Future sites include locations in New Jersey, New York, Minnessota, Illinois, Florida and Georgia. CMX is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cinemex, the sixth largest cinema chain in the world with more than 316 sites, 2,728 screens and 13,000 employees.
