By The Hand is a Chicago based, after-school program that emphasizes academic excellence while nurturing the whole child—mind, body and soul. Strategically located in Chicago’s most under-resourced neighborhoods, By The Hand is currently serving over 1,500 kids in critical need across the city.\n\nBy The Hand has after-school program locations in Altgeld-Murray, Austin, Cabrini-Green and Englewood. We partner with 17 Chicago Public Schools. Children are recommended by local principals who are failing in reading.
