What Is Bryn Melyn Care?

Bryn Melyn Care is a leading provider of therapeutic residential care, independent education, and integrated clinical treatment for multiple and complex needs. Established 1985, we deliver a portfolio of specialist placement solutions for young people 10—18+ from crisis and assessment placements through to long-term placements. Bryn Melyn Care offers an integrated therapeutic treatment service to young people with a wide variety of both acute and chronic needs. These needs are often complex and enduring, and may be expressed through a range of troubling behaviours from sexual or violent offending, antisocial behaviour, challenging behaviour, self-harm, and other risk-taking and self-defeating behaviours. Many of the young people we work with have highly problematic attachment patterns, and some will also present a range of other needs including serious organic mental health problems, emerging personality disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and ADHD. At the heart of the service’s work with young people is establishing a therapeutic relationship. Often coming into our care through one of our crisis and assessment placements, we work quickly to stabilise challenging behaviours through our expert teams in the care home, in our school and clinical teams. We work positively with the placing local authority towards reintegration for the young person’s back into their family, or to placement closer to what is home for them (should circumstance allow that to happen). Therapeutic Residential Child Care, Independent Registered School, Specialist Mental Health Placements, Crisis and Assessment Placements
