What Is Brisbane Boys' College?
Brisbane Boys' College (BBC) is an established GPS day and boarding school for boys in Prep to Year 12 with an enviable reputation and tradition for serving the educational needs of young men since 1902. Recognising that knowledge-based learning is no longer enough, Brisbane Boys' College focuses on teaching children how to think. Not only to solve problems, but to recognise them in the first place. To question the status quo and solve problems to make the world a better place. Not just when they leave school but now at BBC. We call this — A New School of Thought. As experts in boys' education, the school views learning alongside childhood development with its approach contextualised by its guiding philosophy - ‘All About the Boy'. The curriculum is designed to foster active learning for boys through hands-on and practical experiences. This approach is designed to develop boys' minds to be forward thinking and assists them in exploring their passion and purpose in life. BBC provides a stimulating and rewarding environment, where an enthusiasm for education is valued. Academic staff enjoy a collegiality and a level of professionalism which attracts educators from across Australia and around the world. Teachers are encouraged to be innovative, inspiring, nurturing and motivated and to continue their professional learning through a generous program. BBC is an educational institution where opportunities exist not only for students to continually build on their knowledge, but also for staff. Educational research indicates that the biggest impact on student learning is the influence of teachers. At BBC, we are committed to investing in our staff and their learning. BBC is a member of the Great Public Schools (GPS) Association of Queensland. The school is governed by the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association.
