1925... Calvin Coolidge had just taken office, “The Great Gatsby” was newly published, and the Chrysler Corporation was founded. Two brothers, Otto and Bill Brakebush, bought a truck, left their family farm, and started hauling poultry, eggs, cows, and pigs to plants in Wisconsin. Several years later they built an egg packing plant and a chicken processing plant. Brakebush Brothers, Inc. was on its way. Today… Otto’s son Carl is President and the third generation of the Brakebush family is already deeply involved in management positions within the company. Some eighty-plus years later, you’ll find that Brakebush still thrives on the solid, innovative spirit of its founders. We have hundreds of people working in both our original plant and a sizeable plant addition, built in 2006, that helps ensure that we remain a state-of-the-art chicken processor.
